Share Your Story

One of our favorite things about Sonrise is hearing from people who’ve been touched by something they heard on the show. Whether it’s a song that made an impact on your life, or a story that someone shared, it’s great to know that it’s helped in some way, so if there is something that has touched you in a special way, we’d love to hear about it. Everybody has a story, and we’d love to hear yours.

Sonrise Notes for October 26th...

ama-brand...Casting Crowns are nominated for Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist of the Year in the upcoming American Music Awards. The “AMAs” are voted on by the fans and winners are determined through online and Twitter voting. The two other groups in that category with Casting Crowns are the Newsboys and Hillsong United. Fans can vote once per day at the Coca-Cola AMA voting site, as well as once per day via Twitter by including the nominee’s name, the category name and #AMAs within a tweet. The American Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles live Sunday, November 23 from 8:00-11:00 pm ET on ABC.

TAN-Cathedrals...Tenth Avenue North are on the road with the Cathedrals Tour. Their new album called “Cathedrals” hits stores November 10, and tonight you can find them in Orange City, IA. If you want to see if Tenth Avenue North is coming to your area, check out our “Concerts” page.

needtobreathe-live...The guys from Needtobreathe are pretty excited that their three tour dates in the United Kingdom are sold out in December. Because of that, they are going back to the UK in May of next year to places like Glasgow, London, Belfast and they even have a show set for Dublin, Ireland too.

pumpkin...Halloween is this Friday and if you haven’t decided on what to wear for trick or treating or parties, or you were going to forego it all together, maybe you can step out of the norm and show your faith in your costumes! Kelli Mahoney, a Christian youth worker and published writer, has some ideas to think about - You and your friends can pair up as the animals aboard the Noah's Ark. Or wear a black robe, include a gavel and a Bible and be the “book of judges”. You can even dress up as a plague of Egypt, by decorating a t-shirt with drawn on frogs, ping pong balls for hail, rice for lice, plastic flies, and locusts. And don’t forget the Halloween standbys - a priest, a nun, and the popular angel.  Check out some more of Kelli's costume ideas here.

tobymac-Worship-Stories-and-Songs-Tour...Did you know you can be a volunteer at a TobyMac concert? You can, during the “Worship, Stories & Songs” tour with toby, Matt Maher and Ryan Stevenson. The tour kicks off November 6 in Madison, MS with shows in Texas, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and several others, and it runs through December 14. You can volunteer at the merchandise booth, or be part of the set-up and tear-down team or do both! Volunteer here.

12fkc...One of the fastest rising groups we play on Sonrise is the band For King & Country. Joel and Luke Smallbone are For King & Country, and you might wonder how a band like that gets its name… Joel and Luke said, "We wanted a band name that carried more meaning. We were in the studio recording our debut record when Joel had the idea of All The King's Men, like the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme. Our producer overheard our conversation and swung around in his chair and said, 'What about For King & Country?' And we all felt a sense of providence in that moment. ‘For King and Country’ was the battle cry of English soldiers willing to lay down their lives for their king and their country. And now it has become our mission, to lay down our lives for our King and our country”.

JCamp-Tour...Jeremy Camp is the headliner of the Come Alive tour this week with Kutless and Adam Cappa. They were in Las Vegas last night, on their way to Utah as we speak, to perform in St. George tonight, then off to Oregon for a couple of dates, before they head south for a swing through New Mexico, Arizona and on to California. See if they’re headed your way on our “Concerts” page.

WOW2015d-lux...Colton Dixon has the honor of having a song on the new WOW Hits 2015 Deluxe Edition that’s out now. And he’s in good company, with hits from TobyMac, Newsboys, Hillsong United, Needtobreathe, Francesca Battistelli, Switchfoot, Plumb, Skillet and about 30 other artists. See who else is on the set, and even order it here.

MercyMe-at-Sea...MercyMe at Sea is a Carribean Cruise scheduled for January 11-18, with stops in Grand Turk, San Juan, St.Thomas and Half Moon Cay. Tenth Avenue North and Rend Collective will be there as well, and you can be too. All of the details are at
