Share Your Story

One of our favorite things about Sonrise is hearing from people who’ve been touched by something they heard on the show. Whether it’s a song that made an impact on your life, or a story that someone shared, it’s great to know that it’s helped in some way, so if there is something that has touched you in a special way, we’d love to hear about it. Everybody has a story, and we’d love to hear yours.

Sonrise Notes for October 5th...

GMADoveLogo-45thNom...The 45th Annual Dove Awards will take place at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena in Nashville this Tuesday night, so this week’s show is filled with positive music from nominees and past winners. The Doves will be hosted by MercyMe and Lecrae and features performances from several Sonrise artists.

...If you aren’t sure what a Dove award is, it’s an award by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) to recognize outstanding achievement in the Christian music industry. The awards were established in 1969 in Nashville, but moved to Atlanta, GA in 2011 & 2012. The Doves have since returned to Nashville and you can see it when it airs exclusively on the Trinity Broadcasting Network October 12.

...Matt Maher going to have his name mentioned a lot this Tuesday at the Dove Awards. He is nominated for four awards, including three different “Song of the year” categories. But Matt probably won’t be there, because he’s on tour with Tenth Avenue North and will be at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland, KY Tuesday. If you are in or around Milton, PA tonight, you can catch them at Christ Wesleyan Church.

...For King & Country’s “Fix My Eyes” is a hot song right now! It has sold well over 100,000 downloads and opened number one on the National Christian Audience chart, compiled by BDS and Billboard Magazine. At the same time, the song held the number one spot for six consecutive weeks at CHR radio and it’s nominated for Song of the Year, Contemporary Christian Performance of the Year, and the Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year in the Dove Awards this Tuesday night.
