Share Your Story

One of our favorite things about Sonrise is hearing from people who’ve been touched by something they heard on the show. Whether it’s a song that made an impact on your life, or a story that someone shared, it’s great to know that it’s helped in some way, so if there is something that has touched you in a special way, we’d love to hear about it. Everybody has a story, and we’d love to hear yours.

Sonrise Notes for June 8th...

BrandonHeath-Wedding...Brandon Heath and his new bride Siebe were married in the beautiful Scarritt-Bennett Chapel in Nashville May 25. Country artist and songwriting star Deana Carter sang for the couple's first dance, and their guests enjoyed a biscuit bar and wedding cake. As a gift to their friends and family, the new couple donated a well in the names of their wedding guests via Blood: Water Mission. Brandon said of his bride, "I'm a blessed man to marry such a beautiful woman, inside and out. Her heart is soft and her mind is inspiring. Siebe is compassionate and empathetic to all people, and I can't think of a better person to do life with. We've been friends for years and dated for the last two years. We are ready for this next step in our lives, knowing that God will be in the center.”

Godsnotdead...A couple of weeks ago, the Newsboys’ song “God’s Not Dead” was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America! It was a number one radio hit when it first came out two years ago, and has consistently been the top-selling track from Newsboys’ “God’s Not Dead” album. And it was the box office release of the movie “God’s Not Dead,” from Pure Flix Films, that helped push it over the 500,000 mark. By the way, the movie only cost $2 Million to make and has grossed over $60 Million so far.birthdaycake

...Happy Birthday to Third Day Bass player Tai Anderson who turns 38 this Wednesday! If you are celebrating a birthday this week, HAPPY BIRTHDAY from all of us at Sonrise!!

behurricaneprepared...If you live around the coast, then you probably know that hurricane season began last Sunday for the Atlantic (May 15th for Eastern Pacific) and runs till November 30th. Each year top forecasters from Colorado State University predict how many tropical storms and hurricanes we’ll have during the season. This year, they say it should be a quiet year with nine tropical storms and only three will become hurricanes. But keep in mind they are only predictions and each year could vary. In 2012, twice as many hurricanes formed as had been predicted, and in 2013, only two hurricanes formed after a prediction of nine. It’s best to be ready each season so to get the latest info on everything to do with Hurricanes here.
