You know your business is doing something right when your customers do what they did in this story. John Chan has run Donut City in Seal Beach, CA for 28 years with the help of his wife, Stella, after they came to the United States from Cambodia as refugees. They open the shop together every morning, but last month customers found out Stella had a brain aneurysm and was in rehab care. One customer got the word out that if enough folks bought a dozen doughnuts, John could close early and be with his wife. And that’s what they’re doing. John is able to get out by noon to be with Stella and he even turned down an offer of starting a go fund me page. It’s great to see so many people do what they can to help others.
