You may recall what’s now called “the Waffle House Shooting,” which happened in April… and there’s a survivor that credits not only James Shaw who attacked the shooter, but also his waitress. Virginia Stanley was washing dishes when Michael Garth Sr. came in, and she suggested that the group sit at a different table because she didn’t want to splash water on them. That one suggestion put Michael just out of range of the gunfire that happened, and Michael’s mom Vickie hasn’t forgotten it. She was determined to find Virginia and thank her for the little gesture that saved her son’s life. She not only found her, she found out Virginia was in need of a wedding dress for her upcoming ceremony. As a Veteran, Vickie reached out to a Nashville bridal store and convinced them to donate a dress for Virginia. If that wasn’t enough to say thanks, Vickie is now searching for a therapy dog to help Virginia deal with her anxiety. Click here for the rest of this awesome story.
