A brave Ogden, NY police officer risked his life and became a random act hero for saving a stranded dog in the frozen Erie Canal. Sgt. Travis Gray had to inch his way out to where the dog was trapped in the ice and was able to pull him to safety! Travis had his body camera turned on and recorded the whole experience showing the Shepherd-Rottweiler mix up to its neck in frigid waters. Animal control officials said the dog was presumably in the water for about 15-20 minutes before Travis was able to save him. Local fire and EMS officials took the dog into their care, treating it for hypothermia, and he was reunited with his owners the following day. Ya gotta love a puppy story with a happy ending!
