Share Your Story

One of our favorite things about Sonrise is hearing from people who’ve been touched by something they heard on the show. Whether it’s a song that made an impact on your life, or a story that someone shared, it’s great to know that it’s helped in some way, so if there is something that has touched you in a special way, we’d love to hear about it. Everybody has a story, and we’d love to hear yours.

sharingtalents19-year-old Aspen Poole may be blind, but she’s giving back in a big way! Aspen is a high school senior with OCD and is on the Autism spectrum, but she found a way to focus and learn in class, while doing something for others. It’s knitting! Her teachers understand knitting helps her learn, and Aspen will even knit onstage, as she was cast as a townsperson who knits in "Beauty and the Beast". Seniors enrolled in social studies classes at Aspen’s High school are required to complete some hours of community service with a nonprofit organization. Aspen chose the Salvation Army, and makes scarves for them. She also makes a bunch of jewelry and you can see her story here.
