There’s a great story going around about a New Jersey woman named Katie McClure who broke down on I-95 in Philadelphia and was approached by a homeless man. That man was Johnny Bobbitt, and he told her to lock her doors and he would be right back. He returned a few minutes later with a red can of gas that cost him his last $20. Unfortunately, Katie didn’t have any money with her at the time. Turns out Johnny is a former Marine who’s fallen on hard times, so Katie and her boyfriend wanted to somehow make it up to him. They would bring him essentials like a coat, cereal bars and water to his usual spot whenever they visited Philadelphia. But they wanted to do more, so they kicked off a Go Fund Me page intent on raising $10,000 to pay the first and last month rent on an apartment, as well as expenses while Johnny got on his feet. But the story went viral and they ended up raising more than $161,000! See the whole inspiring story now.
