One of our favorite things about Sonrise is hearing from people who’ve been touched by something they heard on the show. Whether it’s a song that made an impact on your life, or a story that someone shared, it’s great to know that it’s helped in some way, so if there is something that has touched you in a special way, we’d love to hear about it. Everybody has a story, and we’d love to hear yours.

foundloveThanksgiving is this Thursday, but on a Thanksgiving 50 years ago, Janice Rude and Prentiss Wilson were sophomores in college, where Janice worked in the cafeteria. That’s where she and Prentiss first laid eyes on each other, and they both knew it was love at first site. Shortly after that, they were engaged, and their families announced it in their local newspapers. But Janice’s father called her at the dorm and told her she had to stop seeing Prentiss or he would cut off her tuition. Fast forward several years to when her mom died, and Janice found the newspaper clipping of her engagement in her mother’s wallet. What she didn’t know is when Prentiss’ mom died, she also had a copy of the newspaper announcement! And we’re happy to say that after 50 years of being apart, Janice and Prentiss tied the knot at 71 years young! They exchanged vows at the only place that seemed fitting, the courtyard at the University where they first met! See the video of this Thanksgiving love story. Talk about a great example of “waiting for love!”
