One of our favorite things about Sonrise is hearing from people who’ve been touched by something they heard on the show. Whether it’s a song that made an impact on your life, or a story that someone shared, it’s great to know that it’s helped in some way, so if there is something that has touched you in a special way, we’d love to hear about it. Everybody has a story, and we’d love to hear yours.

bullycrownWe’re a couple weeks away from October, and among other things, it’s National Bullying Prevention month. In a lot places, bullies are an unfortunate part of high school. Senior Lillian Skinner experienced it recently when some of her classmates told her she was going to be nominated for homecoming court, which is obviously a huge honor. It turned out to be a cruel joke, so her best friends, Anahi and Naomi, who were both nominated, came up with a plan that would encourage and honor Lillian. They campaigned hard for themselves and Anahi ended up winning. At the Homecoming game, an announcement was made that she was honoring a hard-working senior and gave the crown to Lilian. The Ellen DeGeneres show heard this awesome story and brought all three girls on the show, and gave each of them $10,000 for college tuition! We’ll be sharing more great stories like these through National Bullying Prevention month so if you know of one like this to share, use the Share Your Story page. You can see the rest of this story, including video there too.
