Many folks are familiar with the popular Christmas tradition of filling shoe boxes with toys, toiletries and school supplies to donate to Operation Christmas Child. When Tyrel Wolfe was seven years old, he and his family participated in a project with Operation Christmas Child, and little did they know they would one day get to know the recipient! They put together a shoe box meant for a young girl around Tyrel’s own age, delivered it to their church, and from there it was sent to the Philippines. Fast forward 10 years to today when he got a Facebook message from a woman trying to get in touch with the person who sent the shoe box so she could say thank you. Turns out it was Jana Marchan, the little girl who got the shoe box and they became Facebook friends. A year and a half later, he flew to the Philippines to meet Jana in person. See what happened next. We love happy endings like this!
